An extremely loving and gentle form of hatha yoga where we practice listening to and truly appreciating our body, this wonderful vehicle/machine that we are privileged to inhabit as we travel this life's journey. Every class begins with a pranayama (intentional breathing) centering meditation followed by a more intense pranayama exercise intended to oxygenate and energize the muscles and prepare them for work. We then do a sequence of asanas (yogic postures) intended to release energy systematically throughout the entire body. Each asana is followed by "the posture of consciousness" where we learn to listen to our bodies and follow the energy that has been released through each posture letting go of unnecessary tensions in the body and stories in the mind. The best part is the 15 minute guided meditation or yoga nidra at the end of each class where we touch energy points throughout the body with intention of allowing deep healing to occur in the body.
The Posture of Consciousness ㋢
After each asana, we take a moment in the Posture of Consciousness to go inside our minds and bodies in order to discover how they have been affected by the energy released while in the asana. This is ONLY PRACTICE designed to help you learn how to use this meditative, self-monitoring technique on a practical level in ALL areas of your daily life.
Yoga Nidra ㋜
All classes end with a 15 minute Yoga Nidra session in which you learn to use your breath and intention to take you to the Zero Stress Zone where you can erase hidden causes of stress. In this deep state, you re-align with spirit and effortlessly disengage from restrictive physical, mental, and emotional patterning. Here, you are free to create a life that is an expression of higher consciousness.
You are welcome to try a class for free to see if this will meet your needs. Afterward classes are reasonably priced at 10 classes for $60 or $7 for drop-ins in order to cover the rent for our lovely space and to compensate the teacher for her time. Please come and join us in this life altering practice!
