Touchet eatery adds breakfast to its menu

The Seed House Saloon is inviting visitors to wake up with the Touchet institution.

The eatery and Touchet Gardena Road hangout has added breakfast to its plate of services, said owner Nicki Blanchard.

Breakfast is served 6:30-10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday. Daily lunch specials are also offered.

Members of the Red Hat Society were gathered at the Seed House for breakfast this morning. Blanchard, who became the owner almost two years ago, said the new service is getting more popular as word circulates.

The Seed House dates back more than 70 years in a building that apparently dates to the late 1920s. Originally opened as a Ford dealership, the building at 24 Touchet Gardena Road transformed into a gathering place for pool, billiards, drinks and eventually food. It has also become a gathering place, hosting reunions, parties and special events for the Touchet community.

"Ester is well known throughout the Valley for her years of dedicated service to seniors," Mohrland said in the announcement. "Her love and passion for assisting others makes her the perfect person to join the team at Garrison Creek."

Bock previously served as director of Volunteer Services at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. She has also been an active community volunteer.
