Walla Walla man charged in knifepoint threats

Carl E. Adams is accused of threatening to kill his wife earlier this week.

WALLA WALLA -- A man has been charged in Superior Court with holding his wife at knifepoint and threatening to kill her earlier this week.

Carl E. Adams Jr., 43, of 1463 Francis Ave., was charged Thursday with first-degree assault, felony harassment and unlawful imprisonment -- domestic violence.

Karen Adams reportedly told police she and Carl Adams were in a motor home parked in the driveway at their residence Tuesday evening when he threatened her life. He allegedly continued threatening her while rubbing a knife on her body for several hours.

She said Adams wouldn't let her use the bathroom, eat or leave, according to a police report filed in court. Eventually he made her sign over the title of her pickup and he left, officials said.

Authorities were notified and Carl Adams was arrested Wednesday shortly after 7 a.m. when he returned to the residence.

Bail has been set at $50,000.
