McDonald Zaring Insurance has been selected to offer The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.'s award-winning AARP-branded auto insurance program, according to a recent announcement.
McDonald Zaring was chosen after satisfying a number of eligibility requirements that included demonstrating a commitment to community service; meeting a high level of business and ethics standards; and completing a training program designed to highlight the needs of the 50 and older population.
According to the announcement from McDonald Zaring, research from The Hartford indicated the majority of AARP members preferred to discuss insurance choices with a local agent.
The AARP auto insurance program was previously only available from The Hartford by phone Internet or by mail.
The AARP-branded auto insurance program is designed in consultation with The Hartford Advance 50 Team, to refine products and services to the interests and needs of Baby Boomers and older adults.
One significant feature of the program is RecoverCare, a feature which helps customers pay for assistance with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, yard work, dog walking and transportation if they are injured in an auto accident.
McDonald Zaring has been in business in Walla Walla since 1932.
