Louetta J. Shaw


November 11, 1929- January 29, 2010

College Place resident, Louetta J. Shaw, 80, died January 29, 2010, at the Washington Odd Fellows Home, 534 Boyer Avenue, Walla Walla, Washington.

The memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2010, at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. Chaplain Walt Meske will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Outreach through the funeral home.

Mrs. Shaw was born November 11, 1929, in Wenatchee, Washington, to Albert Leroy and Ened Louetta Christensen Zumwalt. She graduated from Auburn Adventist Academy, Auburn, Washington and attended two years at Walla Walla University. On June 13, 1950, she and Melvin G. Shaw married in College Place. He died December 3, 1998.

She was a librarian with the Long Creek, Oregon School District for sixteen years. Louetta enjoyed writing and co-published a book on the Long Creek area. She loved family, friends, and cats. She enjoyed music, taught piano, collected poems, and family history. She volunteered for Gospel Outreach and in the library at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by her son, Delbert Shaw of Wilsonville, Oregon; a sister, Norma Nilsson of Gresham, Oregon and four grandchildren: Chris, Cerissa, Wendy, and Jessie. She was preceded in death by her son, Calvin Shaw on November 4, 2002.
