Coyote boys' late rally subdues Royal, 45-38

BURBANK - Trailing 33-31 after three hard-fought quarters, Burbank outscored Royal City 14-5 in the fourth period and pulled away to a 45-38 boys South Central Conference Eastern Division basketball victory here Friday night.

Trevor Lott led the way for the Coyotes with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Chad Davis was also in double figures for Burbank with 13 points.

Trevor Iverson paced the Knights with 13 points and Matt Albertson contributed a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Coyotes, who entertained Kiona-Benton Saturday, improved to 6-3 in the division and 11-6 overall with Friday's victory. Royal, which hosted Wahluke Saturday, slipped to 2-7 and 5-11.

The Coyotes were clinging to third place, a half game ahead of Connell (6-4, 7-11) and a half game behind Warden (7-3, 10-8) following Friday's game. Connell played at first-place River View (9-1, 12-6) Saturday and Warden was idle.

River View suffered its first division loss of the season Friday at Warden, 57-55, and Connell was a 46-39 winner at Kiona-Benton.

Next week, Burbank closes out the regular season at home to River View on Tuesday and at Connell on Thursday. The top four teams in the East advance to the SCC district tourney along with the top four teams from the Western Division.
