WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Valley Academy's Knights girls basketball team beat Puget Sound Adventist Academy, 42-38, here Saturday to claim third in the 12-team Friendship Tournament here at Walla Walla University.

Kindra Moore led all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the free-throw line.

Victoria Buell scored 10 points on a poor shooting night.

"We needed all of those free throws by Kindra in the end," WWVA coach Monty Buell said. "Kindra also picked up the slack with Victoria not having a real good shooting night from the field. Moore really played well."

Kristina Buell added nine points for the Knights.

The Knights got down 18-7 early in the second quarter. WWVA then went on a 20-0 run stretching through most of the third quarter before PSAA finally scored.

"We went on that run and then started fouling in the fourth because we were tired," Buell said. "They shot most of their free throws there in the last quarter but we still hung onto to win."

Top rebounder for WWVA was Elizabeth Field with nine boards.
