BREMERTON - Single runs in the third, eighth and ninth innings, and three hits apiece by Christian Ramirez and Karsten Strieby, were not enough to prevent the Walla Walla Sweets from absorbing their seventh straight defeat.

Walla Walla's latest fiasco occurred here Saturday night in a 7-3 loss to Kitsap - a setback that dropped the Sweets to 4-10 on the season and 0-5 on their current nine-game road trip.

The BlueJackets jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings. Chase Anselment brought in the first run with a single that scored Chris Escobar, who started the inning with a walk.

Anselment keyed and ended a four-run, second-inning uprising with a two-run single that bolted the BlueJackets to a 5-0 lead.

Kitsap added its final two runs in the sixth inning, one of which was unearned.

The Sweets' run in the eighth came with two out on a Karsten Strieby single. Their ninth-inning tally scored on a fielder's choice.

Walla Walla and the BlueJackets wrap up their three-game series today at the Kitsap Fairgrounds.
