WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Transmission and Exchange Club will meet at Borleske Stadium tonight in the Babe Ruth All-City Tournament.
Exchange Club had one more team to defeat before making it into the championship game, and on Tuesday night, the 20-0 team did just that, taking down Eastgate Lions, 16-5, in five innings.
Exchange opened up an early lead, scoring five runs on no hits in the first inning. Five walks and a hit batter did the damage, according to Exchange coach Rod Fazzari.
But Eastgate wasn't ready to let Exchange walk away with it.
They posted five runs of their own in the bottom of the first, on two hit batters, singles by Wyatt Wilkes, Matt Jubb and Eddie Kaminski, and an RBI double by Tanner Fields.
Tied 5-5 after the first complete inning, Eastgate wouldn't post any more runs.
Exchange put up one in the second and then had a six-inning third, which Eastgate could only match with zeroes.
Aron Fazzari led the Exchange offense with two hits and five RBI. Justin Knight and Hayden Box had two hits each, and Daniel Benavides contributed three RBI to the win.
Pitchers Aron Fazzari, Justin Lemus and Peter Fazzari allowed Eastgate just six hits on the night.
On the Eastgate side, Matt Jubb led with three hits.
