BURBANK -- The Burbank Community Coalition is hosting a town hall-style meeting Wednesday to discuss underage drinking.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the city's library, 875 Lake Road.
The focus of the meeting is to bring attention to the problem of underage drinking. Data, like that compiled through the Healthy Youth Survey, shows almost half of high school students report using alcohol by the time they are seniors. The goal of the night's discussion will be to educate parents, teachers, officials, youth and other community members on the impact of underage drinking, and to develop possible solutions.
The meeting follows a national effort by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
