WALLA WALLA - The Comprehensive Health Education Foundation recently announced that the head of the Walla Walla Housing Authority has been elected to its board of directors.
Renee Rooker has been executive director of the Walla Walla Housing Authority since 1991.
Her passion, dedication, and credentials will be a welcome addition to the board, explained foundation officials.
Rooker has held leadership positions in numerous organizations. Most recently, she completed a two-year term as the president of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, a member organization representing more than 23,000 housing and community development professionals.
During her term Rooker advanced housing and community development policy issues with her testimony in front of Congress and built relations with members of Congress and their staffs and industry partners, according to a press release from Comprehensive Health Education Foundation.
Founded in 1974, the Seattle-based foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote health and quality of life through education.
