The Walla Walla Association of Realtors began its annual "Care & Share" food drive today.
The drive is more than 20 years old, and organizers hopeg for a record-breaking year.
Local Realtors are dropping off orange bags at area homes. Recipients are asked to fill the bag -- and more if possible & with non-perishable food such as canned tuna, peanut butter, boxed pasta dinners, cereal, soups and commercially canned fruits and vegetables.
Hygiene items like shampoo, bar soap, deodorant and toothpaste are also needed. The food and other items go to Blue Mountain Action Council Food Bank, which serves local food pantries.
Participants are asked to put the filled bags in a visible spot in front of their homes before noon on Sunday for pick up. Bags can also be dropped off that day at the Plaza Way branch of Baker Boyer Bank.
For more information call the BMAC food bank at 529-3561.
