Sharon M. Stephens passed away on Dec. 16, 2011, in Yuma, Ariz. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery with Pastor Duane Geyer officiating.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Sharon Stephens to the Walla Walla Community Hospice in care of the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.
Mrs. Stephens was born on Sept. 24, 1946, in Parsons, Kan., to Melvin and Eva Whitter. After Mrs. Stephens' parents were divorced in 1948, she moved to Touchet, Wash. with her mother. When her mother remarried, Sharon was adopted by her stepfather, Richard Hahn. She attended schools in Walla Walla. Sharon and Don Stephens were married on Aug. 22, 1964, in Walla Walla at the White Temple Baptist Church. They resided in Milton-Freewater. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the First Christian Church in Milton-Freewater. Mrs. Stephens thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending any activities the grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and would travel anytime the opportunity would arise.
She is survived by her children, David Stephens and his fianc Brenda Pizzarella of Kennewick; Jackie and Mike Brannan of Milton-Freewater; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Tyler and Nick Stephens of Kennewick, TaKara, and Carisa Knopf of Milton-Freewater and Jolene, Tanner and Tristan Brannan of Milton-Freewater; three brothers, Dick, Steve and Tim Hahn of Milton-Freewater; one sister, June Lee of Pittsburg, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Stephens; her father, Richard Hahn; and her grandparents. xx
