RICHLAND - Walla Walla Valley Academy lives to play another day in the Southeast 2B District tournament, picking up an 84-78 overtime victory over Liberty Christian Tuesday night.

Daniel Lomeland led the Knights with 28 points on the night, while Matt Moore chipped in 26.

"It was a good game with a lot of back-and-forth," said WWVA coach Scott Wagner. "They're an experienced team, so it was a solid game."

"We just played very well defensively in overtime," Wagner said.

The Knights limited Liberty Christian to eight points, while scoring 14 of their own, in the extra stanza.

"We hit some big shots and that's what made the difference," Wagner said.

Liberty Christian's Jake Siefken led the field with 36 points, but was unable to power his team to the win.

Walla Walla improves to 5-8 in league and 8-9 overall with the win.

The Knights travel to league-leading Waitsburg-Prescott at 6 p.m. tonight.

"Our mindset really is that they're the best team in our league and we're going to go in and keep playing our game," Wagner said. "We've got some confidence, so we'll play well and have fun."
