OAKESDALE - Pomeroy fell behind Tekoa-Oakesdale in girls Southeast 1B League basketball action Friday night, but rallied for a 16-2 third quarter to pick up a 44-31 win.

"It was a tough game," said Pomeroy head coach Nettie Severs. "It's tough to play here (in Oakesdale). It's a long bus ride and we didn't get started in the first half."

Severs said the team's energy was down and shooting was off.

The Pirates trailed 21-15 at the half.

Karlie Martin led the Pirates with 15 points.

Pomeroy improved to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in league play, and hosted Touchet Saturday.
