Oregon bomb squad investigates report of explosion in Weston

WESTON - A police call for a fight ended with the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad called in to investigate several possible explosive devices.

According to the Weston Police Department, on Wednesday at around 7:30 p.m. officers were called to the 200 block of North Franklin Street to investigate a fight, an explosives sound and the possibility that a man carried an explosive device in his pocket.

While at the scene, officers received of a report of a recent explosion and possible fire in a residence on North Broad Street.

Neither fire nor explosive devices were found at the North Broad Street location, but several items that might have been explosive devices were investigated by the bomb squad. The results of the bomb squad investigation was not available.

One man was arrested on investigation of attempted arson and sale, possession and use of fireworks.
