BURBANK -- Sheriff's deputies today are investigating an alleged assault at a large party here Sunday.
According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred about 2 a.m. in the 00 block of Quincy Road.
The victim, a 29-year old Kennewick man, told deputies he had driven three people to the party and was assaulted for no reason as he was leaving. The man said his car was also damaged after he backed into another car while attempting to leave.
As he fled the scene, the man said he heard multiple gunshots and was pursued at high speed by another vehicle. The man said the pursuing vehicle stopped following after he lost control of his car and went into an empty field.
According to the report, the victim was apparently able to drive his vehicle into Pasco, where police found it parked on a street with severe front-end damage, the driver's window smashed, windshield broken and foot prints and dents where it had been kicked.
The victim went to Pasco City Hall, where the city police department is located, and was taken to Lourdes Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his arm and face. He was later released.
Deputies investigating the incident reportedly found spent .45-caliber shell casings and two live rounds on the Quincy Road property. A resident on the property told deputies there were more than 200 people at the party, but he had no idea who organized it.
Walla Walla County Undersheriff Edward Freyer said today the incident is being investigated by the Walla Walla County and Benton County sheriff's offices. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 524-5400.
