Columbia County commissioners are Chuck Reeves, Dwight Robanske and Dick Jones. With all present Monday:
PUBLIC WORKS: Opened two bids for 2011 road stabilization project. Bidders were Roadwise of Tacoma and Envirotech Services of Greely, Colo. The bids were referred to the county engineer for review and recommendation.
SAFETY GRANT: Approved agreements and prospectus for a countywide safety grant to upgrade guardrails and improve intersections. Unanimous.
RIGHT OF WAY: Approved right of way applications from BPA to run power lines in the right of way of Archer, Fletcher, Riveria, and Lucas roads. Unanimous.
ROLLER: Approved lease of a roller. Unanimous.
ALTC: Issued proclamation designating May as Older Americans Month in Columbia County. Unanimous.
COURT SERVICES: Authorized cooperation between the county District Court Clerk and Dayton City Clerk to develop a contract for a consultant to do a const study analysis of the operation of municipal court. Unanimous.
COURTHOUSE: Discussed heating and cooling issues with Courthouse maintenance supervisor Seth Teeters. Some air ducts need to be reconfigured to solve problems with distribution of heat and air conditioning.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: Approved salaries for two new dispatchers. Unanimous.
FAIRGROUNDS: Scheduled meeting May 23 to consider fairgrounds fees. Unanimous.
