WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla School Board will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at Lincoln Alternative High School, following a tour and work session at the adjacent Lincoln Health Center. The tour, work session and board meeting are open to the public.
The work session at the center, 534 S. Third Ave. Suite 16, starts at 5:15 p.m. and will begin with a tour of the facility. About 5:45 p.m., the board will conduct a work session to discuss the Washington state high school diploma.
The board's regular meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., and will be held in the library at Lincoln Alternative High School, 421 S. Fourth Ave. During the meeting, the board will hear a special presentation from Lincoln students and staff on the state diploma.
Other discussions and reports include an update on the 2011-12 budget; a report on the district's Minimum Basic Education Requirement compliance; and the Annual Measurement of Achievement Objectives.
The board will be asked during the meeting to consider approving a resolution to begin designing a planned Skills Center; approving the district's 2011-15 Strategic Plan; and a resolution on requirements of an urgent repair grant.
As part of its consent agenda, the board will consider approving revisions to the Head Start/ECEAP public preschool policies and procedures; co-curricular and extra-curricular contracts; bills and payroll; any new hires or resignations; and revision to a board policy on unprofessional conduct.
