RICHLAND - The Walla Walla Xplosion '00 12-and-under girls fastpitch team finished with a tournament record of 5-0 to claim the title in the Fall Breeze Clarion Girls Fastpitch Tournament at Columbia Playfields over the weekend.
On Friday, the Xplosion began pool play with a 15-4 win over the Tri-City Xtreme.
On Saturday, the Xplosion continued pool play with a 7-4 win over the Washington Angels and a 12-4 win over Bratz-n-Batz, out of Lewiston.
In Sunday's semifinal, the Xplosion came back from a 6-5 deficit in the final inning to defeat the Issaquah Flame, 7-6, and claim a spot in the championship game.
In the championship, the Xplosion played Washington Force '99, who were also undefeated in the tournament at that point. The Xplosion limited the Force to one run and claimed the title by a score of 4-1.
The tournament MVP was awarded to Xplosion pitcher Kamryn Coleman.
Other Xplosion players are Lauren Hoe, Faith Hoe, Teisha Payne, Maddy Thomas, Bow Maiden, Alison Skurski, Emma Case, Paris Orchard, Mikaela Forcum and Meghan Yenney. Coaches are Andy Coleman and Kaela Hoe.
The Xplosion is now done with fall play and begins spring play in March.
