DAYTON - Dayton cruised to a pair of blowout wins over visiting Pomeroy Tuesday, with eighth-grader Joey Yenney recording six RBIs on four hits, including two doubles and a triple.

Dayton won 13-3 in the opener and scored 10 runs in the first frame of the nightcap en route to an 18-6 victory over the Pirates in Southeast 1B-2B interleague play.

"He was just on top of the ball all day long," Dayton coach Sal Benavides said of Yenney. "He's an eighth grader and he's a lot of fun to watch. We're actually going to be putting him on the mound one of these days.

"I thought Joey (Yenney) had a great day at the bat," Benavides said.

Christian Warner, another Bulldog making his first start of the year, had two doubles and two RBIs in the win.

Every Bulldog got a hit in the nightcap.
