— Superior Court judge candidate Scott Wolfram's lead in his race against Richard Wernette has increased in the latest count by Walla Walla County election officials.

Wolfram now leads 5,212 to 4,293. His percentage has remained about the same as it was election night, at 54.8 percent of the vote to Wernette's 45.2 percent.

The next count is scheduled for Monday. About 3,550 votes remain to be counted. While a turnaround is possible in principle, Wernette would need to garner upward of 60 percent of the remaining votes to overtake Wolfram.
