No news is good news. At least in regards to oil spills.
State Department of Ecology responders have been unable to locate an oil sheen or spill source reported on the Snake River near Lower Granite Dam.
An absorbent boom placed at the dam did not appear to be collecting oil from the water. It has been removed.
“This potential spill appeared to be a very minor release of unknown origin, but highlights the importance of vigilance and reporting,” Jeff Lewis, spill response team supervisor, said in a release.
Ecology will continue to monitor the situation.
