Key Tech agrees to $5 million deal for sorting equipment

WALLA WALLA — Manufacturer Key Technology will start the new year filling a major order from a Fortune 500 company.

The Walla Walla firm announced this morning it has entered into an agreement to supply about $5 million in optical sorting solutions for the business. The identity of the company was withheld but the firm was described as a repeat customer and leading provider of agricultural products.

“This order is a result of the successful installation and operation of our systems in multiple plants with this same customer during the past season, totaling approximately $4 million,” said Key President and Chief Executive Officer Jack Ehren in a prepared statement. “We are gratified that we have the opportunity to partner with this customer again in achieving their goal to provide quality agricultural products.”

Shipments of the new order are expected to begin in January and wrap up by the end of March.
