The Department of Defense is saluting employers who support Guardsmen and Reservists.
The agency is seeking nominations for employers for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Supports Freedom Award. The award is the agency’s highest honor for civilian employers supporting Guard and Reserve members. It shines a light on businesses that go to extraordinary lengths to encourage their military employees’ service.
Winners will be announced early next summer and honored in a ceremony in Washington, D.C., next fall. Winners for 2012 ranged in diversity from a telecommunications company to a law firm and even a small-town church.
Families may submit nominations on behalf of a Guardsman or Reservist. Employers of every size and industry are eligible. Nominations will be accepted at www.FreedomAward.mil through Jan. 21.
