Waitsburg Schools to hold Christmas concert Monday

WAITSBURG — The Waitsburg schools’ sixth- through 12th-grade musicians will present their annual Christmas concert Monday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The sixth grade band will play several pieces, capped by “Christmas in the Kitchen”, played on pots, pans and glass bowls with ladles and spoons.

The Preston Hall (seventh- and eighth-grade) band will play some of their favorite pep and concert pieces, including “Toboggan Run,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

The Waitsburg High School guitar class (featuring 21 guitars) will present several songs, including “Black Horse in a Cherry Tree,” “Seven Nation Army” and “Jingle Bells.”

The WHS band will close out the concert with “All is Calm” (with Nick Pearson on piano), “Prelude to Christmas,” the “Klaxon” March and themes from the movie “The Avengers.”

All of the music will be directed by Brad Green, Waitsburg schools’ music director. Admission is free and attendees are invited to bring a nonperishable food item for the Waitsburg food bank.
