McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling approximately 574,000 bottles of Infants' Tylenol Oral Suspension, one-ounce grape flavor. Customers reported difficulty using the product's "SimpleMeasure" dosing system. SimpleMeasure includes a dosing syringe, which inserts into a protective cover, or "flow restrictor," at the top of the bottle to measure the proper dose.
In some cases, the flow restrictor was pushed into the bottle when inserting the syringe.
If the flow restrictor is pushed into the bottle, the product should not be used, the company said in a statement. Go to www.tylenol.com for lot numbers and additional information.
Health care professionals and patients are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of these products to the FDA's MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program at www.fda.gov/MedWatch/report.htm.
