WALLA WALLA -- In preparation for Helpline's signature SoupPort event April 18, organizers are seeking volunteers to paint and decorate bowls for the annual fundraiser.
"Our main goal is to get individuals, clubs and organizations into the Pottery Painting Studio at Carnegie Art Center, 109 S. Palouse St., said Sandi Madsen in a release.
Folks attending SoupPort at Blanchet Hall at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, then buy the individually designed bowls to be filled with soups made by the culinary arts students at Walla Walla Community College.
Purchasers get to take their bowls home as mementos.
The bisque-ware bowls are available at the Pottery Painting Studio to be painted and glazed. Then they're fired and delivered to the SoupPort luncheon.
The cost to participate in this event is $10.87 per bowl, which need to be completed and ready for firing by March 31.
If interested, call Patrice Townsend at the Pottery Painting Studio at 527-4527 to set up a time to visit the studio.
