MILTON-FREEWATER - Bo and Travis Chester of Milton-Freewater shot a two-day total of 104 to win top gross honors here over the weekend in the Milton-Freewater Scramble Invitational golf tournament at the M-F Municipal Golf Course.
The Chesters finished two shots in front of Ben Currin and Eric Waller of Milton-Freewater in the first flight of a total field of 54 teams.
Net honors in the first flight went to Jack McCallum and Jack McCallum Jr. of M-F, who shot an even 100 and won by two strokes over Mike Garton and Steve Knight.
In the second flight, Mick Gillette of Wilsonville, Ore., and Deb Leighty of Milton-Freewater carded 116 to win the gross title by six shots over Frank Millar and Hal Phillips. Matt Helm of the Tri-Cities teamed with Mike Lesko of M-F to win net with a score of 97, three shots better than the duo of Shawn and Tim Doherty.
The tournament raised about $2,500 which will go to the Pat Gillette Memorial Scholarship Fund.
