WALLA WALLA - The second in a series of The Moms' Network Parent Workshops is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Walla Walla YMCA.
The workshop will discuss realistic parenting strategies with local mom Terri Neal.
"I think we spend so much time reading books and listening to lectures about parenting skills and strategies, then we struggle once we take them home," said Beth Swanson, president of the local network of parents.
"Terri is an amazing mom who will guide us through what has worked for her family and lead a discussion on how to implement what we know we should be doing but lose steam or get sidetracked once our child does not respond as the books tell us," Swanson said.
The "Mom to Mom" event will have an open dialogue so moms can share what has and hasn't worked in their home and ask advice in a nonjudgmental environment.
Workshops are open to all families in the community, and Spanish translation services and free child care will be provided. The workshop is free, with support from the network, Walla Walla Public Schools and the YMCA.
To register or for more information, contact Beth Swanson at 301-7471 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
