Walla Walla University swept by Treasure Valley CC

ONTARIO, Ore. - Walla Walla University dropped both ends of a non-league women's softball double header here Friday.

The NWAACC's Treasure Valley Community College pounded out 22 hits to sweep the Wolves 9-1, and 10-0.

Kristi Hernandez led the Wolves at the plate with two hits in each game.

In the opener, Hernandez' one-out fourth-inning double led to the only WWU run of the day.

Jaci Shankel moved Hernandez to third with a sacrifice and Marianne Quaile's single plated Hernandez, but it was not enough.

The Chukars got home runs from Anna Donn and Cassie Wood on the way to the 9-1 opening win.

The Wolves got two hits from Hernandez, a single from Shankel, and a single from Quaile, but that was all as TVCC wrapped out 10 hits, including a Jarica Martarano long ball, to complete the sweep with a 10-0 win.
