The election (Electoral College or popular) resulted in little noticeable change in the other Washington, the media, the immediate financial winner. Imagine if the money spent on campaigns had been applied to reducing the deficit or another cause to benefit the nation!
We will soon know if the election will permit Congress to make the tough choices necessary to prevent the U.S. from going over the "fiscal cliff" or if the pre-election party gridlock will continue -- members simply postponing the tough decisions until after the next election again.
My question for those elected to govern: What is your plan to prevent the United States from following the same path chosen by Greece, where government tried to provide everything to all residents within its borders with no sustainable means to pay for it?
