FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Pacific University limited Walla Walla University to 20 percent shooting from the field, outrebounded the Wolves 48-27 and forced the Walla Wallans into 30 turnovers here Thursday.

Those were the numbers that stood out in the Boxers’ 78-30 non-conference women’s basketball victory.

It was Pacific’s season opener while the Wolves saw their season mark slide to 5-7. WWU will have 10 days off before returning to action Nov. 25 at home against Pacific in a 2 p.m. rematch.

Paige Jensen and Olivia Cook were Pacific’s only double-figure scorers with 12 and 10 points, respectively, while WWU’s Nicolette Neel took game scoring honors with 16 points, more than half of her team’s total. No other Walla Walla player scored more than five points.

Former Walla Walla Community College star Alex Pfefferle contributed two points and two rebounds for the Boxers.
