I had the wonderful privilege of attending the Lincoln High School and Park Plaza choirs' presentation at Walla Walla Community College. It was an outstanding musical event.
What a great idea to combine these two unique groups of people. The Park Plaza Senior Choir sharedits musical talents and sang its style of music as did the Lincoln High School choir, and they were great. The piano talents of Gary Hemenway and several others helped create a most enjoyable evening of music.
I was very impressed by the interaction of the two different, yet well-coordinated groups of singers. Their passion for the music was evident as was their enjoyment in sharing their different kinds of music. Each group sang songs from their era and at the end of the event they sang several songs together. I felt privileged to have attended this event.
Developing the choir at Park Plaza was the brainstorm idea of Evelyn Gibson, who lives at Park Plaza. She is a dynamic individual who loves new challenges and lives life to the fullest. She is an inspiration to all, and evidence that getting older just offers more opportunities in life to try new things.
I appreciate Lincoln High School, Evelyn Gibson and both choirs for putting together a wonderful evening of music and for reminding me tyou are never too young or too old to try something new.
