Ever wondered about the "Sweet" business operating in the complex at 26 E. Main St.?
A sandwich board outside the building -- the complex near the Tourism Walla Walla window -- beckons consumers to check out Sweet Skin Therapy where owner/operator Kerri Baltzor specializes in sugar-based hair removal.
"Sugaring" is an ancient form of hair removal that was used by the Egyptians and Greeks and is gentler than waxing, Baltzor explained. It is applied in the opposite direction of wax and is worked up into the hair follicle and removed in the direction the hair grows. Unlike wax, which is removed in the opposite direction of growth, sugar does not stick to the live layers of skin.
Baltzor also offers facials and skin treatments based on client needs and goals.
Services include mask treatments -- papaya mask for revitalization, oat milk mask for hydration and salicylic acid mask to clarify skin, for instance.
She has also been offering a seasonal pumpkin enzyme mask special for $50.
Regular pricing for such treatments is $65. The process runs about 30 minutes.
Baltzor also offers Weekly Skin Care Tips on her Sweet Skin Therapy Facebook page. For more details on the business and services, call 541-969-4687.
