Garfield County Commissioners are Robert Johnson, Dean Burton and Wynne McCabe. With all present Monday, the board:
Risk Manager: Appointed Jennie Byington of Obenland & Low Agency in Pomeroy as risk manager for the county, beginning Jan. 1.
Public Hearings: Held public hearings on 6-year capital improvement plan and 2013 annual capital improvement plan.
Capital Improvement: Approved 6-year capital improvement plan and 2013 annual capital improvement plan. Both unanimous.
Sheriff’s Report: Heard report from county sheriff regarding courthouse emergency evacuation plan.
Tax Levy: Approved tax levy rates for 2013 for county general fund and county road fund. Both unanimous.
Shepherd Fund: Heard report on contribution to county from Shepherd Fund for six projects in 2013.
Aging and Long-Term Care: Approved contract with state Department of Aging and Long-Term Care for 2013.
Hearing Schedule: Set date of Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. for public hearing on 2013 county budget.
