TERO Estates and Flying Trout Wines are preparing for a festive Holiday Barrel Tasting next weekend.
The two will open the winery at their historic Windrow Vineyard on Dec. 7 and 8 to pour samples of their small lot futures and tastings of their current releases.
Guests at the Milton-Freewater winery, 52015 Seven Hills Road, will be warmed by a bonfire with trimmings for s’mores and gourmet soups from Cugini. Live music will be performed in the afternoon, and artwork by Todd Telander will be on display. Telander will give a plein air painting demonstration from 1-3 p.m. both days.
TERO will release its 2009 100 percent petit verdot and the second limited (20 cases) release of its 2007 reserve cabernet. Flying Trout Wines will pour its 2010 Gamache Vineyard malbec.
Hours will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday by appointment.
TERO Estates’ downtown tasting room at the Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center will also have barrel samples and new and current releases from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. next Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Cugini will cater the event. A $5 tasting fee refundable with purchase is required. For more details or directions, visit teroestates.com or call Jan Roskelley at 206-817-2344.
