Outdoor burn ban extended by governor

The governor has declared an extension on the ongoing outdoor burn ban in Eastern Washington.

The ban, which applies to all outdoor burning — including agricultural burns — began last month for all counties east of the Cascade Mountains.

Gregoire’s proclamation cited weather conditions, fuel loads and ongoing wildfires as reasons for the ban.

The extension, which went into effect Sunday, runs through midnight of this coming Sunday.
