Walla Walla resident Doug Bayne has been named an officer for the Association of Washington Business for 2012-13.
As one of three new officers, Bayne will help lead the organization, the oldest and largest business organization in Washington.
Bayne is director of resource development for the Walla Walla Community College Foundation. He has been actively involved in the AWB since 2003, when he joined the board as a representative of Banner Bank.
The AWB has achieved several milestones over the last year, including surpassing its 8,000th member and hosting the first debates of the election cycle for the governor and attorney general candidates, said AWB President Don Brunell, in the announcement.
Joining Bayne on the board are AWB Vice Chair Mel Russell, owner of Aldercreek Vineyards in Vancouver; and AWB Secretary-Treasurer Lisa Janicki, chief financial officer of Janicki Industries in Sedro-Woolley. Tom Hosea, western region government affairs director for KeyBank, will continue on the board as immediate past chair.
