WALLA WALLA — Two of five people injured in Friday’s fatal crash on U.S. Highway 12 have been transferred to Harborview Medical Center.
Andres Medina-Garcia, 7, of College Place and Henry Thacker, 38, of Walla Walla were both transferred from Kadlec Medical Center, Richland, to Harborview, where they were both reported in critical condition.
Two other people injured in the crash remain in Kadlec Medical Center.
Lynda West, 51, of Richland, is in satisfactory condition, and Angelique Garcia, 37, of College Place, is in critical condition.
A fourth passenger in Thacker's vehicle was also injured. According to the report, Justino Garcia, 11, of College Place was transported by a private party to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. Providence staff declined to verify his admittance or condition.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Thacker was driving west on U.S. Highway 12 east of Wallula Junction at 4:30 p.m. Friday with four College Place passengers in a 1997 Toyota Corolla when he tried to pass and struck the oncoming 2003 Dodge Intrepid driven by West.
Thacker’s third passenger, Ruth E. Garcia, 36, of College Place was killed in the accident.
All six people were using restraints, police said.
The cause and charge listed in the report was unsafe passing.
