WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla Community College improved to 20-5 on the season with a victory over New Hope Christian College Saturday, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18.
Reese Amy and JaLisa Jose did the damage for the Warriors, with 16 and 11 kills, respectively.
“She (Amy) really took off late in the match and hammered some balls,” WWCC coach Tim Toon wrote in an e-mail. “(Jose) played one of her best matches of the season.”
They were aided in their efforts by Delaney Fisher, who had 21 digs and Courtney Cosdon who had 25 assists.
“It was nice to get away from the pressure of conference matches,” Toon said, “We played pretty well and got some key contributions from some players in roles a little different than the norm.”
WWCC hosts Spokane on Wednesday night at 6.
A win will put the Warriors in prime position for a second-place finish in the NWAACC East Region and an anticipated rematch against Blue Mountain Community College for a share of the East Region title.
“We have had great crowds at home and have played well (there),” Toon said. “It will be a great collegiate match.”
