WWCC women rout Yakima Valley, 8-0

WALLA WALLA — After a pair of ties and a loss dropped Walla Walla Community College from No. 2 to No. 4 in the latest NWAACC coaches polls, the Warriors responded Wednesday with a resounding 8-0 victory over Yakima Valley in women’s soccer.

Tash Anderson opened scoring on an a Alli Madril assist just seven minutes in to key the rout. Anderson went on to notch another goal in the 43rd on a Peyton Moon assist.

Between those goals Julie Belden scored and Moon scored twice as Walla Walla took a 5-0 lead into the half.

After the break Paige Sorenson scored another goal, and Paige Pontarolo scored goals in the 74th and 78th minutes to round out the offensive outburst.

WWCC hosts Tacoma Saturday at noon.
