Athena woman arrested in robbery, assault

WALLA WALLA — Police arrested an Athena woman after she allegedly bit a man in the stomach in an attempt to escape with stolen goods from Macy’s on Tuesday afternoon.

According to documents presented in Walla Walla County Superior Court this morning, Jennifer Aalbers, 37, attempted to shoplift roughly $500 of merchandise from Macy’s on Tuesday when store employee Marian Cisneros and a 34-year-old male shopper attempted to stop Aalbers.

According to police, Aalbers struggled with the pair, eventually biting the shopper on the arm and stomach, and leaving scratch marks on Cisneros.

Court documents also show Aalbers has allegedly committed other recent shoplifts at both Macy’s and Shopko. Because the other alleged shoplifts are within a 180-day period, Aalbers will likely face enchanced theft charges.

Aalbers had a first appearance this morning in court, and faces potential charges of second-degree robbery, organized retail theft, possession of methamphetamine and fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $10,000 this morning.

If I were the one trying to help restarin her and she bit me I think the police would've had to stop me from beating her bloody! That is beyond disgusting! I can only imagine the diseases she might have passed to her victim.
