MILTON-FREEWATER — La Grande invaded the Mac-Hi gym Tuesday night and handed the Pioneers a 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 Greater Oregon League volleyball defeat.
“Each time we play La Grande we know it’s going to be a tough match sonsidering the amount of time they have played together and that they are very well coached,” Mac-Hi coach Kaila Rodighiero said.
The match was the last of the regular season for the Pioneers, who won’t know about their playoff possibilities until after the final Class 4A state rankings are released.
Mackenizie Fite was 8-for-8 from the service line with a pair of aces, and she also came up with six assists for the Pioneers. Megan Reed was 6-for-6 serving and scored two kills, and Cheyenne Kessler was 4-for-4 from the line, put up six digs and drilled two kills.
“We played well for our final night,” Rodighiero said. “We are losing seven seniors who will be tough to replace, but our underclassmen provide us with a good base for the program.”
