WALLA WALLA — An information session will be held Tuesday at St. Patrick Church for individuals interested to learn about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals federal immigration program.
The meeting will be held from 7-8 p.m. in the Nativity Room of St. Patrick’s Church. Greg Cunningham, program director for Catholic Charities Spokane Refugee and Immigration Services, will offer an orientation and workshop. The session is intended to provide information on the new federal program, which halts the deportation and allows time for seeking employment and legal residency in the U.S. for qualifying youths and young adults.
The workshop will focus on explaining eligibility and the application process, including costs; a list of supporting documents and other items needed to apply; discussing the pitfalls and caveats of applying; and going over limits of the program.
A follow-up workshop will be announced at the meeting for people interested in receiving help with applying.
