General Mills is voluntarily recalling a single day’s production of Almond Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars because of a labeling issue, the company said today in a press release.

The product in question may have been packaged incorrectly, failing to disclose peanuts on the box’s ingredient label.

A production error resulted in a limited number of properly labeled, individually wrapped Peanut Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bar packages being inserted into six-pack boxes labeled as Almond Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars.

There have been no reports of allergic reactions or illnesses due to the labeling mishap.

The recall only affects boxes of six of Almond Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars with one “Better if Used By” date of 26FEB2013 printed on the top of the box.

Consumers allergic to peanuts, or who are unsure of whether they are allergic to peanuts, should not eat the recalled food and should call General Mills for replacement or a full refund at 800-231-0308.
