YAKIMA — Walla Walla Community College’s softball team ended a forgettable weekend here Saturday with a pair of NWAACC Eastern Region losses to Yakima Valley, 9-7 and 6-4.

The Warriors dropped both ends of a twin bill at defending league champion Wenatchee Valley on Friday, 4-0 and 11-3.

WWCC, which has now lost four straight games and 16 of its last 18, fell to 2-6 in the East and 4-16 overall.

Walla Walla got a solid pitching performance from Kelsey Locke in game one against WVC. She scattered eight hits, allowed just one earned run, struck out two and walked two over six innings.

“We played very good against Wenatchee in game one,” WWCC coach Mike Staudenmaier said. “Then we played soft for three straight games. Our team will work very hard next week (in practice) and figure it out.”

The Warriors host Big Bend for a league doubleheader Friday at 4 p.m.
