MILTON-FREEWATER — Four golfers combined to score 299 and lead McLoughlin High School to a team victory at its own Mac-Hi Invite Friday.
Baker and LaGrande tied for second place, each finishing with team scores of 308 on the par-60 Milton-Freewater Municipal Golf Course.
Mac-Hi’s Andrew Kain captured medalist with a 10-over 70. LaGrande’s Jake Girard took second place with a 72.
“It’s always nice to win your own tournament,” Mac-Hi coach Barry Wofford said. “What I’m most happy with is the shown team improvement over each tournament this year than last. That means that we are continuing to get better.”
The four other Mac-Hi golfers were Sterling Sandberg (73), Rain Wheeler (77), Chase Copenhaver (79) and Aaron Lefore (79).
The Pioneers take to the links again Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Walla Walla at 1 p.m.
