Whitman drops one set in 9-0 victory over Pacific


WALLA WALLA — Whitman College remained undefeated in Northwest College women’s tennis action here Saturday after defeating Pacific University, 9-0, while losing just one set on the afternoon.

Courtney Lawless, Morgan Lawless, Kate Rubinstein, Kate Kunkel-Patterson, and Madison Webster each won in straight sets for the Missionaries in singles action. Jenna Dorbin dropped her first set, but roared back to defeat Pacific’s Lillian Do 4-6, 6-2, and 10-5.

The Whitman double tandems gave up a total of seven points in sweeping the three doubles matches. Alyssa Roberg and Courtney Lawless, Webster and Morgan Lawless, and Rubinstein and Katrina Allick all emerged victorious.
