TEKOA — A shorthanded Pomeroy High School golf team finished second at a District 9 East Schools match at the par-70 Tekoa Country Club Tuesday.
Tyson Feider had the low score of the day, carding a 77 over 18 holes to lead the Pirates to a team score of 418. St. John-Endicott scored 377 to win the team scoring, and Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia turned in a 470 to take third. The top four scores for each school counted.
On the girls side St. John-Endicott’s Michal Schuster medalled with a 78. Pomeroy’s Teresa Meyers carded a 92 for second place.
Tanner Fieder (95), Steven Melvoen (120) and eighth-grader Carson Krouse (126) rounded out the Pomeroy boys scores.
The Pirates next golf at St. John-Endicott’s municipal golf course Tuesday at 1 p.m. for another 18-hole District 9 match.
